WoW Forever City of Dalaran Quests
Faction pickups, prerequisites and a run checklist for City of Dalaran dungeon quests.
Recommended dungeon band: 28–33. This is a preparation guide, not a minimum-level requirement. Quest chains and item starters must be accepted by each player.
Pickup order and prerequisites
Alliance: collect Stormwind quests, visit Southshore for An Alarming Request, then speak with Modera before entering. Horde: collect Undercity and Tarren Mill quests while completing the key chain, then speak with Rexxie near the entrance. Mark the book, blossom, core and mote objectives before choosing city branches. Only one keyholder is needed for gate access, but each player needs their own prerequisites for quest credit.

Inside the dungeon
- Start in the sewers and defeat Atrexis. If bringing the Tome of Dalaran for Lyn, use the straight sewer branch after Atrexis rather than immediately turning toward the surface.
- The city branches. Agree which quest bosses and collection areas the group needs before splitting off into side areas.
- Clear nearby trash before each city boss. Fel Ancient is accessible without killing all the earlier bosses.
- Finish with Shade of the Archmage. Keep him inside his room and check all collection objectives before leaving.
Before leaving
- Check each player’s quest log, not only the party leader’s completion.
- Loot boss objectives and accept item-started quests before deleting or selling anything.
- Keep follow-up quest items until their delivery is complete.
- Inspect the actual reward choices for your role before turning in.
Atrexis’s documented drops include Graveweave Bindings, Bonebinder Signet and Gravespike Repeater. Plan your quest pickups as well as boss kills: Arcane Mote and the faction collection objectives can require different branches. Use the linked source loot tables for individual boss drops rather than assuming every Classic item is available.
