WoW Forever Ruins of Lordaeron Guide
Entrance, preparation, route, boss tactics and quest planning for Ruins of Lordaeron.

Entrance and access
Find the instance portal in the surface ruins above Undercity, south of Brill. The entrance is in Horde territory. Alliance parties should travel together and account for guards rather than treating the Undercity approach as a safe meeting point.
Before you go
The official band is 15–20; the encounter guide recommends 16–22 and notes a mismatch with quest levels. Horde can collect four outside quests in Brill, the Sepulcher and the Apothecarium. Alliance quest starters are inside. Poison removal and stuns are useful; keep a recovery route clear.
Route checklist
- Clear the spider patrols in King’s Alley and isolate Witherfang with his two spiders.
- Defeat the Baron after clearing nearby soldiers and banshees; check doors nearby for the Crest.
- At Lordamere Overlook, clear the area before activating the chimney event for Viktor.
- At Market Street, prepare for the statue event and the Abandoned. Continue through Bjork’s patrol area toward Rath’mael.
- Before leaving, inspect the final area for Edward or the Blood-Stained Letter, and check quest items in every player’s bags.
Dangerous trash
Pull patrols back to cleared ground. Banshee silences can disrupt healing, while Flesh Golems knock targets away and reduce threat. Dense ghoul packs punish accidental extra pulls. Agree who controls or stuns the second dangerous target.
Boss tactics
Witherfang
Kill the accompanying spiders and remove Leech Poison where possible. Isolate the patrol before pulling.
The Baron
Keep the tank healthy before Knockout. Use stuns to reduce the risk and be ready to recover threat after it lands.
Viktor the Vile
Activate the chimney fire near the graveyard only when ready for five add waves. Save resources for the boss and remove Leech Poison.
The Abandoned
The statue event produces three waves before the boss. Prepare for Frost Nova and Life Drain; do not start with nearby packs alive.
Bjork
His Anti-Magic Shield is brief. Avoid spending major magic damage cooldowns into the shield.
Rath’mael
Move when Flamestrike starts: its location is selected around the tank at the start of the cast. Stuns can prevent casts.
Quest and loot planning
Horde quest rewards include The Stitcher from Light’s Justice and Gnarled Necromancer’s Staff from The Wrath of Rath’mael. The Baron-related quests offer Slain Baron’s Signet. Alliance can obtain Tarnished Locket from Remember That I Love You. Witherfang’s listed drops include Atrophic Girdle, Segmented Spider Leg and Witherbite Bracers.

After a wipe
If a resurrection-capable party member is alive, confirm whether they can recover the group before everyone releases. Otherwise return to the same entrance as a ghost, regroup and restore resources. Review the failed pull’s positioning and extra enemies before trying again.
