WoW Forever Hall of Thanes Guide
Entrance, preparation, route, boss tactics and quest planning for Hall of Thanes.

Entrance and access
Enter the High Seat in Ironforge. Take the open doorway immediately on the left and follow the descent through Old Ironforge to the portal. Horde groups must cross a hostile capital; no safe opposite-faction shortcut is established by this guide.
Before you go
Alliance should visit Earthseer Farsen at Gol’Golar Quarry before traveling to Ironforge. Pick up the Old Ironforge quests before entering. Both factions can take Important Heirlooms and An Ancient Grudge. Reserve bag space for heirlooms and the final-room quest item.
Route checklist
- Clear the opening undead rooms for The Restless Dead. Take An Ancient Grudge from the Ghostly Attendant before engaging Faldrim.
- Clear space around the first boss’s patrol. Continue into the Dark Iron section, collecting heirlooms as you go.
- Handle Magmatus with his summoner separated from the party. Fight Plunder with a wall behind the tank.
- Clear the outer looters before the final group. After Durgen, check the Reliquary vaults for remaining heirlooms and the Treaty.
Dangerous trash
Avoid landing zones from Engineer bombs. Pull Summoners around a corner to bring them into melee. Golems and groups of Looters can overwhelm a low-level tank; mark a focus target and control additional enemies before attacking.
Boss tactics
Faldrim Anvilmar
Wait for a clear patrol window. Keep him away from uncleared packs and remove his curse if your party can.
Magmatus
Kill or control the accompanying Summoner while the tank separates Magmatus. Keep the rest of the group away from his close-range fire damage; heal Combust targets.
Plunder
Use a cleared wall or corner so Knock Away cannot throw anyone into another pack.
Durgen Dirgehammer
Clear the room edges first. Control one golem and kill the other, then finish the boss. Expect tank damage from Rend and movement from Fear.
Quest and loot planning
Old Ironforge Incursion offers the Ironforge Greathammer or Deepblaze; Important Heirlooms offers Dwarven Tome, and An Ancient Grudge offers Catacomb Cloak. Faldrim’s listed drops include Spiritwraith Drape, Ephemeral Choker and Aetherwisp Bracers. These are examples to compare with your equipment, not a universal BiS ranking.

After a wipe
If a resurrection-capable party member is alive, confirm whether they can recover the group before everyone releases. Otherwise return to the same entrance as a ghost, regroup and restore resources. Review the failed pull’s positioning and extra enemies before trying again.
